1. China-UAE bilateral trade volume is US$99.27 billion

According to data from the UAE Statistics Authority, the total amount of goods imported by the UAE from China has shown a fluctuating upward trend in the past five years, growing from US$46.9 billion in 2017 to US$51.7 billion in 2021, an increase of 10.32%.

2. An important pivot of the “Belt and Road Initiative”

The UAE has been my country's largest export market in the Middle East for many years and has become the largest trading partner of Arab countries. In 2021, the bilateral trade volume between China and Arab countries exceeded the US$300 billion mark, a year-on-year increase of approximately 37%. At the same time, China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative coincides with the long-term development strategies of Middle Eastern countries, and there is huge motivation to move in the same direction.

3. China is the number one source of imports of household gifts to the UAE.

The UAE’s import categories from China are increasing year by year. Household products accounted for 64.3%, including fireworks, firecrackers, woodcuts, feathers, electronic belt scales, etc.; daily chemical products accounted for 14.3%, including geranium oil (geranium oil) and other peppermint oils. Home furnishing categories, flower and gardening categories, and sporting goods each accounted for 7.1%.

4. Super consumption power and willingness to consume

The UAE is a wealthy country with a high-income consumer base. These consumers have high demand for high-quality, luxurious home products. As the population in the UAE continues to grow and the level of urbanization continues to increase, the demand for home products has stimulated a sudden increase.
